Are you looking for a home based business opportunity to get involved with and are curious as to whether or not Melaleuca is a scam? This article will give you an honest review of the company.
1) The Company
Melaleuca is a health and wellness company that is based out of Idaho Falls, ID. Melaleuca is a home based business opportunity as it markets its products through MLM or network marketing.
2) Products
Melaleuca carries a product line that consists of a variety of different products from nutritional supplements to personal and home care items. Many of the products are all natural and also eco-friendly.
3) Comp Plan
Melaleuca offers its distributors a multi-level, open-ended matrix pay plan. This pay plan can be very difficult for many to understand. Another problem is that when “spillover” occurs, members can become lazy. This happens when one very hard working person places people underneath of other team members and then those members earn a small pay check from the spill. Some may get the wrong idea that because they did nothing to receive a commission, their MLM business will be easy to grow. In the end, some do very well with a matrix system pay plan, but most squander and fail.
In closing, Melaleuca appears to have a good product line. However, the compensation plan is challenging. The plan is confusing and is not as user friendly as many other MLM opportunities. In the network marketing industry, it is vital to not only have a great product line but also an easily understandable and workable pay plan.

I also agree with your article. The Melaleuca Comp Plan is not the best in the business. I use to do Melaleuca a few years ago. Still nothing has changed

My wife got scammed into signing up for this after a so called “friend” saw her on Face book. She no sooner said hi when she was cajoling her into joining this pyramid scheme. That’s how they make their money, signing as many people as they can. Besides having outrageous prices ($26 for nothing more that a 16oz. bottle of glorified Lysol, or over $70 a month for their non FDA approved vitamins), when inquiring how to get out of this scheme, I got hassled by a snotty saleslady out of Blaine, MN. who called the cops on me for asking honest questions which she wouldn’t answer! (Initials S.W.) Plus they automatically charge your credit card a $35 minimum a month even if you don’t order anything.
I would definitely steer clear of this outfit.
